Thai Station Restaurant
About This Spot
Stepping into Thai Station Restaurant in Merrick feels like finding a comforting corner of Thailand tucked softly into a bustling suburban street. The space quietly invites you to slow down with its warm, approachable vibe — where the pace is easy, and the hum of conversation mingles with the subtle aromas of fresh herbs and spices. This is a neighborhood spot where locals find a gentle pause from the day, whether for a midday meal or a cozy evening bite.
The restaurant unfolds not as an extravagance but as a genuine place for sharing simple pleasures. The atmosphere is relaxed, almost like visiting a friend’s kitchen where the flavors carry stories — from the tang of lemongrass pork that lingers in the air to the comforting touch of coconut-infused rice that feels both humble and nurturing. There’s a quiet joy in watching the thoughtful attention to ingredients and preparations that honor tradition without pretense.
Meals here tend to arrive plated with care, inviting the curious to explore familiar favorites alongside surprising details — a hint of fresh mint in fried rice, a playful sweetness balancing a gentle heat in the curry. The combination of textures, from crunchy spring rolls to tender skewers, encourages sharing and savoring at a comfortable pace. It’s the kind of place where the food feels like a conversation, warm but unforced, drawing out subtle smiles with each bite.
Conversations flow easily around the tables, often accompanied by steaming cups of honey ginger tea that feel like a small, soothing ritual amid the busy rhythms outside. The service complements the mood — attentive yet unobtrusive, adding to a sense of being cared for without ceremony.
In essence, Thai Station is less a destination and more a quietly beloved pause — a place where the familiar comforts of Thai cuisine are served with genuine hospitality, making every visit feel like a welcome refrain in your day.

Not the best, but it was good. Pad Thai was dry. Thai Tea was made well and subtly sweet. The papaya salad was yummy.

Really great find here! Was in the mood for Thai food and came across this place and wow was it great! The massaman curry chicken was absolutely amazing nice little kick with the sweetness in there it wasn’t too sweet or to spicy just great flavors and the spring rolls were also great as well as the peanut chicken, prices are very reasonable as well and great prices for lunch! Definitely will be back here for some Thai food highly recommend!

I have been enjoying this place for years. Great Thai place in a cozy setting. I've never had a problem ordering anything here. My favorite appetizer is the Indian bread. It is absolutely delicious.
